Examples of CGI::Application

Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello Monks,

I am looking for examples of CGI::Application in use. I have been reading the tutorials given within the modules at cpan and I have also been to:

www.cgi-app.org
The Simon Cozens article on perl.com
and all of the obvious pages that google will give you. I am specificly interested in input handling from forms.

You're going to want to look at the various plugins that C::A has. Specifically, CGI::Application::ValidateRM. The mailing list is a good place to go for this kind of info. In general, if you think something isn't in Perl, try it out, because it usually is. :-) "What is the sound of Perl? Actually, CGI::Application::ValidateRM has been deprecated in favor of CGI::Application::Plugin::ValidateRM. That being said, you make an excellent point :) My personal favorites include CGI::Application::Plugin::Session and CGI::Application::Plugin::LogDispatch. YMMV. Cheers! MrCromeDome	[reply]

An example of a large web application using CGI::Application is Krang. It's a big application but a great example to learn from!	[reply]

FYI, that article was written by Jesse Erlbaum, the original author of CGI::Application, not by Simon Cozens. Simon was the editor of perl.com at that time.	[reply]

And, re "I am specificly interested in input handling from forms": if you're not fairly expert (no assumption, but if this helps, good) with html, check the examples at w3c at w3.org example (but stick to their examples, as trying to parse their definitions/specifications is, IMO, apt to be frustrating and far less than comprehensive.) other useful refs and/or examples A good starting point at WDG MIT's xhtml guide enhydra - focus on DOM and a java implementation, but solid forms info to start>	[reply]
