Most of the Monastery is built in the Gothic style. Some of the oldest parts are Norman and there's even a few traces of the original Saxon building in the crypt. In the mid nineteenth century the bell tower was added, and is considered to be a masterpiece of the High Victorian style, although it does not fit well with the rest of the buildings and is infested with poisonous spiders.
