'maintained thru the server', if you mean does perl have an application server that has standard built in session managment then the answer is no. But As castaway points out all the building blocks are there on cpan and can be integrated into a mod_perl so u get exactly what u need.
This ties up nicely with a question i've been meaning to ask.
Does anyone know of anything perlish that is planned to meet the liberty alliance spec?

You can also look at Apache::Session. There are multiple options, including several filesystem options, Berkeley DB, memory cache, shared memory, and cross-platform memory cache daemon. | [reply] |
