    Oh, I don't know... ActiveState is making money out of their IDE too. So, why shouldn't there be any other players?

    I wonder why some people are trying so hard to be blind ....

    OpenSource means that I write code in order for other to benefit from my work, and in turn, I benefit from their work.
    ClosedSource means that I write code I'm interested in <direct> material (money) benefit.
    Some people choose one model over the other. Does this make they evil? I guess not.

    If the thingy is closed source it doesn't mean it isn't good (it may be bad, I don't know, it doesn't work on UNIX).
    And here's the reason you can't imagine:
    Those people are interested in your input. If your are willing to give it, you get a free license, if not, you're free to use your IDE/editor of choice.
