5/8 is a scalar, a zero-order tensor. It's also the dot (or scalar) product of two vectors (first-order tensors) parallel to each other with lengths of 5 and .125, since a.b = = ab cos (theta) = ab only when theta = 0 degrees or radians. 5/8 is also a rational real number, and it's also the fifth term in the Fibonacci series that converges to 1/phi, i.e. 1/1 1/2 2/3 3/5 5/8... c.f. any book on tensor analysis -100104
