In Perl Passport or Single Sign On? I asked a basically duplicate question that was already discussed not so long ago. Anyway I'd like to find out if it is acceptable by the Gods (or whoever has to accept this) of the Monastery that CPAN::Forum will proxy the username/passwords of the Monks ?

To explain myself better:
A registered CPAN::Forum user will be able to put her Monastery ID in her preferences in CPAN::Forum. Once this is done, when next time trying to authenticate on CPAN::Forum, she will be able to type in her Monastery ID along with her Monastery Password. I will take these and try to authenticate on www.perlmonks.org using LWP or similar. If successful I accept the user. I will not keep the password on CPAN::Forum

theorbtwo mentioned OpenID. That's much better than what you're asking for. FWIW, Ask Bjørn Hansen has said he was working on this for auth.perl.org.
