in reply to Selected Best Nodes ain't the best

I'd remembered it as: since Monks are weak and sinful creatures that tend to upvote anything they're pointed at, showing the top n tends to garner enough ++ votes for them that it stops anything else having a chance to break into the category.

But a bit of searching suggests that wasn't the purpose. See Random Top Nodes for the original proposal, and Renovating Best Nodes for the announcement.

Thanks for the links. I'm a youngster here and, for all the experience I've garnered writing nodes, I'm still rather inexperienced in the ways of the Order.

I often look at Best Nodes to see what's interesting, but this is the first time I've looked at Selected Best Nodes. My son prompted me by asking "What's the highest reputation node?". I still can't answer that. Is there a way to find out?

I also don't know for sure, but I bet this one is in the Top 5.

      holli, /regexed monk/

I just showed this to one of my sons, who was somewhat impressed. However the twins (almost 3) got very excited and said "Camels, Camels" rather loudly.

They like the Camel book too

Very nice obfu! It's vote currently stands at around 636. Thank you for pointing me at it.
