In my own thread Re approval nodelet many useful answers were given, but it mainly turned out that the "Node Status" nodelet was fundamenatlly what I was after.

However that nodelet too is missing in many important places, e.g. in sections and home nodes and more generally at all nodes that are not user supplied, IIUC. So I'm asking if it could be "patched" to be shown there too. This doesn't seem too awkward IMHO.

I am aware that a possible answer in terms of the Free nodelet could be given, but it seems to me that it could be a basic feature instead. Thus I'm asking for others' opinion here!

Look, just put [id://`id`] in your Free Nodelet and be done with the whinging.

(You'll actually have to write it as [id://`id`] so that it doesn't get interpreted as a perlmonks shortcut.)
