Greetings and salutations,

One feature I would like to see would be a favourite node list. I think it would be good if we could tick a box on a node which we found useful and (after form submission of course) have it added to a list.

I think it would be cool if the list could be displayed on users home nodes (in a basic table would be fine). I know that we could make notes of such nodes in our scratch pads, but I think this would look cooler and from a UI point of view, work a little better.

Does anyone have an opinion on this suggestion?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

      Hi tlm,

Would it be possible for this data to be visiable to other monks via my home node?
Update I should have been more clear, I mean displayed on my home node rather than linking to my scratch pad.

      Thanks,

      Martin

One has the option of saving one's favorites to one's public scratchpad. You can then have a note in your homenode to the effect of "see my favorite nodes in my scratchpad", with a link to it if you want.

Sounds like a nice idea (depending on how much work it would be), but I'm not sure about everyone having to see my list of favourite nodes on my homenode. It would be nice to be able to have a list of favourite nodes with a sublist of favourite nodes to show up on your homenode, in the same way that we have public and private scratchpads. That way I can bookmark lots of nodes without swamping my homenode :)

My cow-orkers were talking in punctuation the other day. What disturbed me most was that I understood it.

      Thanks Nev,

I think your suggested sub list enhancement is a great idea.
I would benefit from a list of nodes I was monitoring as I have often forgotten about a node that I wanted to follow, then having to go Super Search it.

Thanks again for the valuable input.

Well, instead of favorite, you can say, I suggest this module. You can also give reasons for the suggestion if you like.

While I appreciate the lazyness behind marto's suggestion, I also note that other Monks have listed favorite nodes on their homenodes. It is only a little extra work to copy links manually from one's scratchpad (public or private) to one's homenode.

Doing it that way also provides the opportunity for a little review and/or reflection: Do I really want this link here? (At least once I have clicked the wrong link and copied something to my pad that on further consideration I really wouldn't want displayed prominently on my homenode. ;-)
