On page 39 of the O'Reily book "Perl In A Nutshell" there is a short discussion on the Perl compiler. Where can I find a more in depth discussion that would include some more examples?

    Chapter 18 of Programming Perl, 3rd is devoted to perl compilation. That's probably a good place to look next. After that, take a look at B.

    I am a bit surprised that there is no mention of the ActiveState Perl Development Kit (price US$ 49 - 245 depending on licence) - www.activestate.com
