How can you install html2ps and ps2pdf if your sysadmin doesn't allow you to install programs? Can't you hit him over the head untill he lets you install an X server and Java runtime? update: if I read the fop/batik documentation correctly, you only need an X server on UNIX, and it's not a requirement on windows.

Anyway, apparently, you can embed SVG directly in PDF if you use the imageviewer acrobat plugin. there is a program here that does that
