r.joseph has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Thanks again for thoose of you who answered my last post on templates, and again to thoose who answered the parent of all these questions.

Here is one more for y'all, and this one shouldn't be too difficult this time! I ended up installing the Template Toolkit, and from what I have read in the man pages so far, it looks like it will fit my fancy very well...BUT...

I was just wondering if anyone knows either 1: where I can find a good, short tutorial on the TT (cus I don't want to read through the entire man pages), or 2: a nicely formatted TT man page - if I have to read them, I really don't want to have to read them from my stupid text console :-).

Thanks once again to all of the wonderfully generous help I have recieved and hopefully will recieve from all my fellow monks!! Happy Holidays!

Thanks!
R.Joseph

Well, the man pages for Template.pm include a nicely written tutorial section, so I'd really suggest looking at them.

If you installed it in the default place, the pod file will be in /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.x.x/Template.pod. Run that through pod2html and you can have a nicely formatted copy locally.

Also there is a decent and interesting white paper on the template-toolkit website.

    Hope that helps,
