Not to mention that I'm really skeptical that even if you try and compile it you're going to have syslog(3) on a Windows box (under Cygwin maybe it'd be available).

Do you know I completely missed the fact that the OP was using Windows. No it won't work. The OP will probably want to try out Net::Syslog which will log to a remote `syslogd` over a network. /J\	[reply] [d/l]
