Terminal has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi monks :), I'm having problems installing modules to use. Most recently I've tried to install the Tk module, but I had problems with that. After my Tk problems, I then tried downloading other random modules. No success. I have Mac OS X Tiger, and I'm very new to perl/cpan. If you could email me at: evanwils@gmail.com , I would be very VERY grateful! I would post the problems I had, but as I said, I'm very new and confused with all of this, and I'm not sure what to post, or what my problems are . Thanks!

You need to start the X-server, then you can sudo cpan Tk. Tk isn't native Aqua so X is required.

Well, the idea is that you post your problem here and we try to help you by posting responses. That way everyone can learn. Sending you email directly doesn't help everyone else.

For now, I'd recommend having a look at the [id://Tutorials]. There are excellent sections on how to ask a question and how to install modules.

After you go through those, post again if you're still having trouble.

    Good luck!
