You'll want to install a similarly old version of Storable. It is meant to work in close lock-step with perl's internal data structures. The highest version I see as passing tests on CPAN Testers: Reports for Storable is 0.6.9. It is downloadable along with other old versions from http://backpan.cpan.org at http://backpan.cpan.org/authors/id/R/RA/RAM/.
