Have you tried? open(REMOTE,"//172.22.1.73/D/FromC/FitClass/fooo.LOG") || die ("cannot open the remote file $!"); or open(REMOTE,"\\\\172.22.1.73\\D\\FromC\\FitClass\\fooo.LOG")

Hi Monk... I tried $path = "\\\\172.x.x.x\\D\$\\foo\\bar\\filename"; Also i tried your script...But it says Permission denied... How to rectify the error,but i have the permision to access the remote file.... Can anybody give me suggestions.... Thanks in advance	[reply]
