I knew about it, but I can't remember how I ever stumbled upon it. I tried it a few times and I must admit it is very well done: installation is a breeze and it works "out-of-the-box. Esp. for windows-users, it is the easiest way to get a mod_perl enabled Apache server running and if you really want it you can have Tomcat and Cocoon working as well just by downloading some additional packages and running the installer.

The only reason I don't use it anymore is because Komodo doesn't recognize the Perl which it installs as a genuine "ActiveState" Perl and therefore refuses to run ppm with it.

Maybe you should try XAMMP Lite. It comes with Apache, PHP, MySQL and a few other things ~~but not Perl~~. You can have your own ActiveSate Version of Perl running next to it. Update: Sorry, I didn't notice that there is a mini Perl version included. Just the Perl executable. And why are there so many german users? It's because apachefriends.org is a german page. It belongs to Kai Seidler. BioHazard reading between the lines is my real pleasure	[reply]

I tried XAMPP a few times, it was quite good, but now that I know how to install my own "AMP" stack, I can fine-tune it better.
