Microsoft Word Doc

ecuguru has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I'd like to be able to parse MS documents on my os X box. I can't use the Win32::OLE lib on the mac X box (requires calls to win sys). And google hasn't turned up any other MS word parsers in Perl. Anybody know of one?

A work around may be to save the Word docs as .rtf files and use RTF::Parser. Perl is Huffman encoded by design.	[reply]

You could use Abiword to do your word document parsing, and use your Perl script as a wrapper.	[reply]
