slloyd has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Does anyone know where I can get ppds for the Crypt modules like Crypt::IDEA? I am using perl 5.8 on Windows. ActiveState does not have them. I also need ppds for Expect and Net::SCP::Expect. Thanks.

The CPAN search utility at cpan.uwinnipeg.ca will display, if available, Win32 ppm packages for a given CPAN distribution (eg, see those for Crypt-IDEA). The database used for this, as well as including packages from the ActiveState repositories, also includes those of crazyinsomniac, bribes, and uwinnipeg.

If a ppm package isn't available from one of these repositories, or if one is available but not the most recent version, I'll take requests to make one.

I did look at trying to make a package for Expect, but it requires IO-Tty, which is very unix-oriented.
