In the musical, "Fiddler on the Roof", there's a song called "If I were a rich man." In it, Tevia (the lead character) sings about all the things he would do if he were rich. One of them is "All day long I'd biddy biddy bum, if I were a wealthy man." Gwen Stefani recently sold a bundle of CD's with her rendition, "If I were a rich girl." (isn't she?)

Actually, Gwen Stefani's song is regrettably "If I was a rich girl." Basically demonstrating a desire to throw the subjunctive mood down on the ground and kick it in the balls, repeatedly.
