Ask them which is the difference between "Perl", "perl" and "PERL",
ask them if by any chance there's a couple of modules they always use at the top of quite about everyone of their scripts, with at most the exception of one-liners or the like.

It appears you are correct, strict and such may be referred to as pragmatic modules (Googling turned up the chapter of "Programming Perl" titled "Pragmatic modules", but I won't link to it since it is most likely unauthorized). /me turns in his pedant badge...	[reply]
