in reply to YAPC::Europe::2006 - Birmingham Wins The Bid

I read through this three times, and still failed to see what country Birmingham is, or if it's a city within some country. Could the node be updated please to include the name of the country?

There is only one Birmingham Perl Mongers group so it shouldn't have been too hard to find us :) Plus the fact that the previous announcement (which you replied to) already mentioned the UK. Maybe it's just that Europeans are more aware that (the original) Birmingham is in the UK ;)

Well, yes, I first thought "Birmingham Alabama?". But then that didn't make sense for a Europe conference.

I think the point I was trying to make is that too many announcements go out leaving out key pieces of details that are painfully obvious to the announcers but are completely lost on the audience. This was a gentle nudge in that direction, and maybe a heads-up for other annoucements here.

Good job, but ponder how many European countries Braga might have been in. I think merlyn's comment was warranted.

Update: Sorry my post has stirred up a few negative comments. No one was being flippant, and I don't know of any other Bragas in Europe. Peace.

        talexb,

Who said it wasn't? I had no idea myself so I did the research and posted the results. Do you believe I was being flippant? Out of curiosity, why did you bring up "Braga"? I researched Birmingham which is what merlyn asked about.

        Cheers - L~R

At least for me, Braga returns only hits for the one Braga in Portugal. What other Bragae are there?
