I'd actually rather like to see the ability to comment on any home node "come back" (if it ever existed at all). Was it disabled for some reason, or just never implemented?

It was once possible hacking the url of a reply manually (see the link above), but now I get a "Can't reply to user nodes" error... there's someone who had done so and now periodically posts further notes to those notes, and so on.
