All,
While Homenode Surfing the other day, I came across a monk located in Manila (not to be confused with manila). When I tried to find the user today using Super Search, I came up empty handed. Apparently the "Location" information isn't made available to searching.

Do people think it is a good idea to make homenode searching more powerful or is there no need? I am well aware of the external PM Stats page and perhaps that suits everyone's needs. I have only wanted this functionality a few times and not enough to join pmdev to try and implement it myself.

What say you? In addition to searching body of the "User's Bio", a homenode specific search would have options for all the other info such as:

Keep in mind that just because you indicate that you like the idea doesn't mean it is going to happen. It may not be feasible without a great deal of work and it may be that non of the volunteers are interested in working on it. I couldn't find previous discussions on it so I thought I would bring it up here to see what everyone thought.

Cheers - L~R

interesting idea - i had come across get_user_locations previously and had wondered if there were a way to look for users with more vague location info such as "Atlanta" before but you seem to have taken the concept one step further.

Count me as a supporter of the idea
