Regarding the "representation [you]'ve made" - that way lies insanity. (Thus speaketh the voice of experience. ;-) ) To preserve your sanity and that of other Monks, always use one of these methods for printing your data structures, preferably Data::Dumper or Data::Dump::Streamer.
