perl -pe's!\B\w+\B!@s=$&=~/./g;my$s;$s.=splice@s,rand@s,1while@s;$s!eg

    And trim 6 chars off the rival: 
    perl -MList::Util=/./ -pe's:\B\w+\B:join"",shuffle $&=~/./g:ge'
