Possible workaround if the installation of the Oracle-driver fails: use the ODBC driver and connect via ODBC-connection.

Your advice is sound in general, but the OP's problem appears to be in the DBI installation itself. It hasn't gotten as far as loading any drivers, it would appear. Do not rebuke them with harsh words ... but rather lead them gently - with URLs - so that they may learn wisdom.	[reply]
