Not strictly perl, but related ... There are probably a lot of items that could come under this title, but this is a simple one for users of zsh. I finally read through some of the completion control manual page and 'discovered' these two lines which you can put in your .zshenv
  autoload -U compinit
  compinit
depending on your preferences you might also want -
  setopt AUTO_LIST NOBEEP AUTO_MENU MENU_COMPLETE
amongst other numerous possible zsh options. The 'compinit' bit enables sensible completion control for the 'man' command. If you happen to want to find out about using Storable for the Apache::Session serialisation interface then that man page -
  man Apache::Session::Serialize::Storable
now climbs the screen a little quicker. Of course man is the wrong tool for a hierarchy of pages, but I digress ...

Now if someone can take me straight to this page from vim ...

    Use emacs ... it has "man" and "info" and integrated searching of perl documentation via "perldoc" (with cperl mode), all onboard.

    Don't know if that was what you wanted to hear :-) ...

      Use Vim! it has :!<whatever>

      Lets face it, after learning unix do you really want to learn yet another command set? ;)

      I really doubt that was what you wanted to hear ;)

        viper - ":!<whatever>" *and* emacs ...
