ait has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I am looking for a tool like Oracle SQL Plus or Centura SQL Talk that is generic for any database supported by DBI. I was just about to start coding a little tool like this but instead decided to take a little time and seek your kind wisdom and see if anyone knows of a CPAN module that does this.

Thanks,
Alejandro

      Wow! Thanks a lot!!! It is precisely what I was looking for!!!
      I am working at a client that uses MS SqlServer and I was reluctant to use a windoze station to run "Query Analyzer" so I was determined to write my own if I had to!!!

      For the curious here is the minimalistic version I was writing this morning before asking for wisdom here:

    Pretty sure that DBI Shell will do what you want, at CPAN here CPAN: DBI::Shell

    The dbish utility in the DBI::Shell distribution is such a tool.
      Thanks! DBI::Shell solved the problem!
