perlcc docs

I just found this searching perl.com. It compiles a perl script into a binary. I tried it with a little hello world and it works great for a simple example.

Does anyone else have experience with this and care to comment on it? I've looked for a while on how to compile perl into a binary, and is this the free answer, or am I missing something?

Sure! perlcc is great! It works fine with most of the built-in modules and offers options to compile ones not built-in. It is labeled as "experimental" and I haven't see anything new for it in a while. While not perfect, it's pretty complete and the last time I checked, the author was working on some pretty heavy-duty optimizations. I'd say no-holds-barred action but that's the same thing I said for perl threads. Have fun!
