The problem with that first link is that its math is wrong. I definitely prefer its description of the problem contained there, but notice how it provides the same equation as the second link, but arrives at different results.

So I quickly tested the equation itself, and came up with the sequence found in your second link... and that became the basis for a "camel problem" poll.
