Is this memory leak being worked on? Does anyone know the status of a fix for this?

I'm basing my (non-expert) diagnosise upon the evidence of the trace above (which was run under 5.8.8). It may well be that if you raise a bug report and send it to the guys that really know what is going on, they may already be aware of it, or they may reach a different diagnosis. Examine what is said, not who speaks -- Silence betokens consent -- Love the truth but pardon error. Lingua non convalesco, consenesco et abolesco. -- Rule 1 has a caveat! -- Who broke the cabal? "Science is about questioning the status quo. Questioning authority". In the absence of evidence, opinion is indistinguishable from prejudice.	[reply]
