A quick Super Search resulted in benchmark ldap search, you may be interested in Old_Gray_Bear's reply, though it is not Open LDAP specific.

The Super Search also returned Using Net::LDAP to access and update LDAP directories, which has links to benchmarking tools (along with other resources) in its replies.

The key phrase here being Super Search :)

Update: The phrase I searched for was 'ldap benchmark', you should probably search for other general benchmarking nodes also.
