I've never had a job that consisted of
coding in Perl only, or even of
only coding in Perl. However, nearly all of my jobs in the past 10 years have consisted of
coding in only Perl. And the rest of my job has often been figuring out where "only" goes in that sentence.
"Dogs must remain on a leash in the park." "What? I can't take him home? Sorry, Fido."
- coding in Perl only: the job has no other components at all (this would be rare... you mean you never plan, or debug, or write memos, or have company picnics?)
- only coding in Perl: not doing anything else with Perl except coding (no debugging? Executing? Talking about it? Reading about it?)
- coding in only Perl: not using any other language to code
