AJAX and Perl

jfroebe has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi,

I've been learning all about AJAX and would like to know if any books in print or in the works would cover the following:

Tutorials using Perl and one of the various templates (Mason, etc) to create the backend
Any issues found with various modules while used as the backend
Tips & tricks.
Well, you get the point

Most of the web sites I've found that provide tutorials using a scripting backend use PHP, JSP or Active Pages (vb, c#). While I can learn and translate these into the equivalent Perl, learning from people that have gone down this road already would be a definite boon.

Any pointers? Is my lack of caffeine evident? ;-)

fellow monk cees has some CGI::Application based AJAX examples (see also AJAX and Perl-based web applications): AJAX autocompletion demo A Simple Upload Meter Example a good idea might be using HTML::Prototype so you don't have to write AJAX by hand... and if you are using Mozilla (Firefox), the Web Developer Toolbar might help developing Javascript code. i hope this helps... :)))))	[reply]
