jfroebe has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi,

I've been learning all about AJAX and would like to know if any books in print or in the works would cover the following:

  1. Tutorials using Perl and one of the various templates (Mason, etc) to create the backend
  2. Any issues found with various modules while used as the backend
  3. Tips & tricks.
  4. Well, you get the point

Most of the web sites I've found that provide tutorials using a scripting backend use PHP, JSP or Active Pages (vb, c#). While I can learn and translate these into the equivalent Perl, learning from people that have gone down this road already would be a definite boon.

Any pointers? Is my lack of caffeine evident? ;-)

Catalyst has some nice examples: You can join #catalyst on irc.perl.org if you want to learn.
