You can have interfaces in Perl 5 today. Perl 6 has Roles, which is probably a more useful concept.

    Perl6::Roles might do what you're looking for. The rewrite of DBI is using it extensively.
    My criteria for good software:
    1. Does it work?
    2. Can someone else come in, make a change, and be reasonably certain no bugs were introduced?
