The odds are, you already have Data::Dumper on your system. At the command line, you can type

perl -MData::Dumper -e "print Dumper($x)"
[download]

The should respond with

$VAR1 = undef;
[download]

Otherwise, it will complain that it can't locate the module.

Data::Dumper has been part of the standard distribution for quite a while. I would be astonished to discover that you don't have it.
