in reply to Professional Toolkits <=> vim + shell

As a Perl shop I am a one-man concern, I used to be a plain editor type (vim on *nix) but now I am constrined to working on Windows much of the time. I tried EPIC/Eclipse, but it got to be very slow. So I decided that Komodo with the PDK would do what I needed. It has, it has been very stable, makes project management easier, integrates with CVS and has given me back a life!

I have contract coders work for me, they are free to use whatever they want - I don't look over their shoulders so I don't much care. But whilst I am far more comfortable using Eclipse or Komodo, that doesn't mean that people can't be productive in an environment such as the one you prefer.
