I'm a little worried that it might depend on some system specific features, so feedback is much appreciated, on this particular thing and my JaPh in general.

I realise it doesn't quite adhere to the JAPH standard (there's a trailing null character) but I couldn't be bothered fixing it. And I've used far too many \x.. characters...
