FTP a directory

pdl_babu has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Monks,

I want to do the following activities in ftp:

1. Check for new directory in the specified ftp location

2. If there is is a new directory ftp the directory and its concents to a local location and move the new directory in the ftp location to a backup directory.

3. Send an email about the download to specified users.

Can someone suggest a good module to complete these activities.

pdl_babu, Net::FTP::Recursive is designed to handle entire directories and, since it subclasses Net::FTP, you get all the functionality. For sending an email, I find MIME::Lite powerful while remaining fairly simple. Cheers - L~R	[reply]
