Someone should clue this guy in that major finance companies (e.g. Morgan Stanley) run mission critical software on Perl, not to mention Yahoo, Amazon, TicketMaster, etc.
Add to that list: a portion of Citigroup's realtime credit card application approval system.
It's glue, but if the glue fails major $$$ is lost.
