Note that strict has been part of perl since 5.000. It looks like your HPUX 5.00502 installation is missing some stuff, so strict may be the least of your problems.

Just out of curiousity, what gave it away as HPUX? Are they the only ones who put it in /opt/.../PA-RISC?	[reply]

The most common OS that runs on PA-RISC is HP-UX. See the Wikipedia PA-Risc family entry for more.	[reply]
