It may be obvious to you which aspects of the PDFs you want to compare, but not for me.
Text, layout, colors? What kind of report do you need?

I need to compare text & layout. The report should provide the information just like Acrobat distiller provides, while executing option 'compare documents'-> 'page by page visual compare'.
I am Not sure if this can be done in Perl. I am just checking if I can save some money or Not :-)

sanPerl,
Since you have not given us the details of what "'compare documents'-> 'page by page visual compare'" actually returns I would suggest either looking a the Document Traversing functions of CAM::PDF or reading How do I post a question effectively?, and giving us as much information as you can regarding what you are trying to achieve.

Take a look at what Test::PDF does to see how to drive CAM::PDF to do the comparison.
My criteria for good software:
- Does it work?
- Can someone else come in, make a change, and be reasonably certain no bugs were introduced?

Hi,
Only Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional is the best way to compare PDF document for both text & layout. Write a plug-in through Acrobat SDK for batch process. | [reply] |
