Well, considering that my most common use for Perl involves gluing a database to a Web server maybe with relative degree of interactivity thrown in - probably aided by a C library that some wily programmer has managed to glue Perl onto - I'll go with that. The scale may be a lot different than what I'm used to thinking of as the domain of scripting languages, but it's not like I'm writing the database, Web server, and image manipulation libraries completely in Perl.
