    Hi weihe,

IIRC you need to install the Oracle client which comes on the CDROM before installing DBD::Oracle. I believe that you can no longer download the Oracle client from their website due to a change in their licensing. Please correct me if I am wrong, this may not be correct. Recently a question was asked if there was a work around for installing DBD::Oracle without the installing the Oracle client. Advice on alternative methods of accessing Oracle were provided.

Update: Slight update to clarify link to DBD::Oracle - is it a must to have an oracle client?.

    Hope this helps.

    Martin

Well two things, firstly the PPM installer for DBD::Oracle actually does download the required Oracle client DLLs as the OPs post shows, it downloads them separately from Oracle I assume and you have to agree to the licence terms; secondly you can download the Oracle client from the Oracle Website. Getting the latter before installing DBD::Oracle might help as you can get it installed anc check that it works before installing the module.
