I won't miss you.
I have read your posts, and I have seen the code you have included. I don't think you have understood the point of this site. You say you havn't needed Perlmonks, yet your
posts reveal a level of ignorance that suggests otherwise.
I've been coding in Perl for some time now, and have done some large projects. I routinely answer questions here, and post my own. My fellow Perlmonks taught me more Perl then all of my books combined. And I hope that I have helped other monks as well. Perlmonks is about the exchange of knowledge, in both directions. I consider good questions to be as important (if not more so) then good answers. If you can't contribute then I don't see any point to your presence here.
I wish you well in your travels, but I won't miss you.
Update
I did not mean to imply that non-contributors were unwelcome. I apologize to anyone who interpreted my words that way, and upon re-reading them I can see how that could happen. I do not mind people who just peruse the posts, but never author any themselves. There is much to learn from the archives. What I don't like are the people that feel obliged to post something (anything!) and just post garbage. They aren't contributing; they are just polluting the Monastery. |
