Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I know that is good enough to eliminate ISO-8859-1 but I'm not sure of other encodings. Should I be using some module's function? If so, which one?$str !~ /[\x80-\xff]/;
