Recently I begged folks to make a GUI for TAPx::Parser. Well, Torsten Schönfeld has done that. It's based on his Gtk2 module and while it's not got everything you would want (it's an alpha), it's a great start to show that we can have GUIs for tests. TAPx::Parser is still alpha, but already there's news that Yahoo! is using it with tagged tests. Imagine a large distributed testing environment where you tag tests based on which OS they're running on, whether they're database or GUI tests, or even which developer wrote the tests. Then you could have a nice GUI which could slice and dice all of your test output and give you must finer-grained detail as to what does and doesn't work.
So you may be tired of me harping about this, but we are starting to have some great testing tools being developed and bug reports are welcome. You can also read about my strategy to pull the parser out of alpha (hint: I'm trying to test all of the CPAN).
Keep them patches and tools rolling in, folks!
Cheers,
Ovid
