not sure about packages being available for Mac. you could create the graphviz file in plain perl and then just call the required (and installed) graphviz executable from within perlWell, that is what GraphViz.pm does for me, so the best practice would be to do it that way. Of course, the best practice right now is turning out to be painful.
btw...what (interesting) stuff are you trying to do in graphviz?.I am trying to, for starters, graph my wiki. Every page has links to other pages. These are outgoing links. Every page also has a list of trackbacks... pages that link to that page... they are incoming links. There you have it. A graph representation of every page. Works fine from the command line on my Windows laptop, but dies when run from the browser. As far as the Mac is concerned, I can't even install the dang things. Computers are hard, but they shouldn't be this hard....
