I don't have an answer for you, but to narrow it down, do you have the same DBI/DBD drivers and database versions?

do you have the same DBI/DBD drivers That was it. My hosting provider is running a slightly backdated DBD::Pg driver. About 10 minutes after my original post I found that out and got confirmation from Joost that would be the issue. Peter L.
